Degraded Network Performance - 10/May/2011

We had a period of degraded network this morning, a full report is pending and will be posted in this thread.

The issue was resolved approximately 45 minutes ago.

Hi Everyone,

We are sending out the following notice to all Customers.

EVENT DATE: 10th May 2011
EVENT START TIME: 2.15 AM AEST
EVENT END TIME: 8.00 AM AEST
TOTAL OUTAGE/DOWNTIME: 5 Hours 45 mins
EVENT TYPE: Network
IMPACT OF EVENT: An outgoing DDOS from one of our customer's Service's resulted in one of our Upstream Providers becoming degraded. Some Customers whom routed through our other Upstream Provider, were not effected.
ACTION TAKEN: Source of the outgoing DDOS attack was disabled and limited.
RESOLVED: Yes
REASON FOR EVENT: Outgoing DDOS attack resulted in degraded performance to our network and all Services.
OTHER INFORMATION: We will be sending out an incident report within the next 48 hours which will provide further details. If you were effected by this outage please wait for the full report for details before submitting an SLA credit request.
