Default Network Performance 12 Aug 2011 12:30AM

Hi Crucial,

We appear to be experiencing very sluggish network performance to our Australian VPS at this time (web server & remote desktop). It has been like this for at least an hour that I am aware of.

Also over the last couple of days we have been getting POP connect failures on our Aus cPanel accounts too.

Is there anything going on to explain this?

Thanks.

Hi frontier,

No know issues with our AU network during the time frame's you indicated.

At the time you were experiencing the issue did you submit a Ticket to our Support Team?

If you believe there is a network speed issue or network problem, its always best to provide evidence, such as ping results, trace route results and we also like to ask for results from an application called WinMTR.

In regards to your POP issue, there is a limit to the amount of connections 1 ip is allowed to have to our pop3 services on some of our solutions. As I do not know what solution you are on specifically I can only generalize.

If you are having issues connecting to your email via POP please submit a Ticket to our Support Team so they can investigate further.

Hi Ross,

Sorry I'll lodge a support ticket next time.. for some reason that didn't even cross my mind. If I see it again, then I'll run the tests and let you know.

The POP thing has just been the last few days and is very intermittent.. basically every now and then Outlook will display the username/password login box because it couldn't find the server. I do have multiple email accounts, but only check them every 5mins. This used to happen once a fortnight, but has been occurring multiple times throughout the day lately. The POP service is on 111.118.165.150. Anyway at this stage this is not something I am highly concerned about, just thought it may have been linked to the VPS issue.

Cheers.

Hi,

As a troubleshooting method I would suggest modifying your accounts to poll the POP3 server say every 10 mins or 15mins and see if the issue resides.

In some cases we do need to restart POP3 service on a particular hosting solution due to it being flooded or having issues due to a large influx of connections.
