Hello,
What is the differance in VPS between Xen and Virtuozzo. My current VPS provider uses Virtuozzo however Crucial uses Xen. What's the differance between the two and why would use use Xen over Virtuozzo? Cheers, netaddict |

There are a bunch of differences between XEN and Virtuozzo/OpenVZ and the main one being that Virtuozzo/OpenVZ runs at the software layer, they're essentially an add-on to the operating system (kernel) whereas XEN, ESXi, simulate hardware in a guest system.
This basically means that your allocated resources to your guest system are yours and more accurately represents a full blown dedicated server. There are obviously a lot of other differences between the two but that is the main difference in architecture between the two. Last edited by Greg-Mega; 20-10-2009 at 02:11 AM. |
