Question Mac OSX iWeb compatibility

Please forgive me in advance as I am BRAND NEW and know very little.

Crucial Paradigm has been recommended to me by a work colleague. But I am on a Mac and using iWeb to create my business website.

I think I have two questions (but please bear in mind I am so newbie on this stuff I might not know what questions I should be asking).

1. Would I be able to publish my iWeb website directly to my domain if I move to Crucial Paradigm or would I have to completely redo my website using your CP templates?

2. Is it possible to get redirection from my business domain to another site - but with the URL remaining as my domain name at all times?

Hi CbrGal,

Thanks for contacting us! To answer you questions:

1. Would I be able to publish my iWeb website directly to my domain if I move to Crucial Paradigm or would I have to completely redo my website using your CP templates?

> This depends on if iWeb allows you to download their template, if they do you may be able to upload it directly to our servers. Best to check with them first

The templates that we provide provide you with 100% ownership so if you had to redo the site using one of our templates you wouldn't have that issue in the future.

2. Is it possible to get redirection from my business domain to another site - but with the URL remaining as my domain name at all times?

> Yes this is possible, the easiest way is by using the "parked domain feature" however there are other ways which our techs would be happy to do for you!

I hope this helps!

iWeb is Apple Macintosh's web publishing program. I'm not going to even bother trying to find out if it will let you download a CP template as I already know the answer will be no . But the iWeb program does say that you can publish to an FTP Server. Would that be possible with crucial paradigm? (Again sorry - I really am struggling to know what questions I need to ask and how to ask them).

Yes it does. A parked domain feature I think lets the visitor think they are visiting my domain because the URL shows as my domain but they are actually somewhere else entirely? Is that right?

If so - then I don't actually need to be able to do number 1 above.

Can I ask a 3rd question while I am here?

3. My husband also has just purchased a domain for his business (completely different to mine) and ideally I would like to be able to have two separate domains and separate emails happening for the two businesses - but doing both starts to get expensive. Where can I find out about options for doing something like this?

thanks again

FTP should work with iWeb as this is fairly universal, and should be compatible with most FTP programs.

Default Thankyou

Unfortunately - in the meantime I had to jump as my old webhost was cutting me off last Monday.

Maybe this time next year I can come join CP.

Thanks anyway.
