Vocus have sent the following notification,

Vocus engineering will be performing work on segments of our STM-64 backbone during the above two windows, with engineers physically present on-site in Auckland, San Jose and Sydney.

The work will be performed in conjunction with Southern Cross networks, our undersea cable provider, one segment at a time, with rolling checks conducted at each juncture prior to commencement of the next phase. Â Full acceptance testing will be conducted before traffic is re-introduced onto the new paths.

Preliminary work will be carried out to ensure that there should be no congestion during the change window however slight latency increases will be noticed during the first part of each window as traffic is re-pathed.
