Vocus Event Notification - 23rd September 2010, 04:07 AEST
First Notification:
Quote:
Start Date: Thursday 23rd September 2010, 04:07 AEST (UTC +10); 06:07 NZST (UTC +12)
We are currently experiencing problems with one of our Global Crossing transit services in San Jose, California. The problem has been identified by Global Crossing engineers to be localised to a single POP but impacting multiple customers. When a prefix is advertised to them, it is installed into their routing table but no traffic is received, causing what appears to be a localised black hole.
We have removed all prefix advertisements from them at this point in time and are currently running on alternate transit capacity until we hear that this issue is resolved. We will continue to monitor the situation with our own test prefixes and will restore advertisements when we have been advised the issue is resolved.

And Resolution:
Quote:
Start Date: Thursday 23rd September 2010, 04:07 AEST (UTC +10); 06:07 NZST (UTC +12)
End Date: Thursday 23rd September 2010, 05:53 AEST (UTC +10); 07:53 NZST (UTC +12)
Global Crossing have resolved an issue in the San Jose area and traffic has been restored back to this path.
