What are the recommended TTL values for DNS records. From what I have seen with other hosting companies is they tend to set the SOA to 86400 and the other records to 14400.
I have just noticed that when I created a new account all the records are set to 1000, perhaps something has gone a bit screwy there. I understand what the TTL value does and the pros and cons of making it higher and lower just thought I would see what people tend to use. I think 14400 is pretty good as 4 hours is probably on the limit of acceptable if you need to make an emergency change. Have a great long weekend! Nathan |
