Default Migrating sites

I'm about to sign up for a reseller account here on Crucial Paradigm. I have a reseller account with another provider which I am going to cancel (there have been 2 major downtimes in the last 7 months, and it turns out there is no failover in place), and I need to move everything across.

Is there a way to export all the data - including email accounts and forwarders, subdomains etc - from CPanel, rather than having to set everything up manually again?

Yep, there definitely is! There should be a backup option in cPanel, if you have this available you can take a backup of each site through cPanel, and then request us restore the backup on our hosting service. This backup should include all your MySQL DBs, files, and emails from your old provider.

Hi,

I am in a similar situation and have 20 odd customer accounts at another provider. Once I have backed all of their accounts up, how long does it take to restore from your end?

I just need to work out downtime etc for customers. Thanks in advance.

Cheers,
Sido.

Hi Sido,

This really depends on how large the accounts are, if they are small it could be a few minutes, however if they are large it could take a few hours.

Thanks for that Aaron.

Is it best doing it all in one hit or a few at a time and can it be scheduled to be done overnight (ie. not business hours)?

Cheers,
Sido.

You are probably best off doing a few to start with, see how long they take, and then plan around that!
