https off site?

I've been thinking about purchasing an SSL cert for my site and dropped a https on the front of my url experimentally.

A different site loaded.

Is this correct?
I was a little surprised to see it - I was expecting either my own site, a blank screen or some form of 404.

This can happen if an SSL certificate is installed on a shared IP address. If you purchase an SSL certificate with a dedicated IP from us, we will put you on a dedicated IP which means you will not get to another site if you go to the https address.

If the other site wasn't installed incorrectly, what should I see on my site when I add https to the address? Just curious.

I believe you would just receive an error message stating that the address is invalid, or something along those lines.
