Default Getting Started in ASP.NET 3.5 deploy

Hi Guys

I was just wondering about a few questions as im wanting to deploy a site tonight but this is the first time running up asp.net sans remote desktop and direct iis and sql management studio access!!

1. I was wondering what the default web user is for my domain/app pool would be ie do they follow a convention naming users so i can assign folder permissions for file upload

2. When uploading my web.config file.. what settings should i be using for email i.e. Pickup from IIS or an smtp string?

3. What is the server address to use in my connection string in my web.config file for sql server?

Any help would be most appreciated.
Cheers,
Tom

Hello Tom,

Usually, IIS user(IUSR) name will have the format IUSR_plesk-user-name.

2. When uploading my web.config file.. what settings should i be using for email i.e. Pickup from IIS or an smtp string?

You don't need to use smtp authentication. You can connect to "localhost" to send email from a web application.

3. What is the server address to use in my connection string in my web.config file for sql server?

You can use "localhost".
