Default Mailman mailing lists disappeared?

Someone reported today that an email sent to a mailing list through one of the sites I manage didn't go through, and on logging in to that site's cpanel, all the mailing lists appear, but I can't log in to manage them.

Eventually, it returned a 404 error for

Wholeclub Administrator Authentication

Sure enough, when I took a look at the file system, there is no mailman folder there.

An email was successfully sent through a mailing list on Monday. I'm the only person who administers the site, and I certainly haven't logged in in recent days, so no one has deleted anything recently.

Any thoughts on what might have happened?

Default All good now

Some 5 hours later, it seems to have righted itself. Odd.

Default It´s happened again!

The same issue has cropped up again.

It came up today that messages sent to various mailing lists over the past week haven't got through, and haven't bounced.

On logging in to the cpanel today, I was able to access some of the mailman mailing lists, but others returned this error:

-----------------
Bug in Mailman version 2.1.14

We're sorry, we hit a bug!

Please inform the webmaster for this site of this problem. Printing of traceback and other system information has been explicitly inhibited, but the webmaster can find this information in the Mailman error logs.
------------------

According to this:

Bug in Mailman version 2.1.11.cp3

the problem is due to an upgrade to Mailman where all the permissions have been lost. The solution is to change the permissions via root SSH, which I don't have the ability to do... I'll log a support ticket.

Is this going to happen every time Mailman is upgraded?

Hi Lasninas,

Feel free to submit a Ticket to our Tech Team so they can investigate.

This is a community Tech Support area so is not always actively monitored by our Tech Team.

Hi Timm741,

What error are you getting? Your post did not include the error.

Angry ... and again!

All 6 of my mailman mailing lists are broken AGAIN!!

This happens with incredible regularity. It appears that every time mailman is upgraded, I have to log a support ticket to get them operational again.

This is really very poor.

I have just logged another ticket.

When trying to log into any of the mailman lists, I receive the error:

And by regular, I mean that this is the 3rd time in 4 months that I've had this exact same issue.

Hi lasninas

Thanks for the update.

As long as you have submitted a ticket then we can take a look. Thanks for that.

Taking a look at the queue, I believe your problem has been addressed. However I have also alerted our Sys Admin of the issue, so we can make some changes to avoid a repeat.
