Default PHP error on every script

Hi,

I have a reseller account on s456.au.crucialx.net and since April 21 2011 every PHP request is reporting an error in the error_log file. The error is " Unable to load dynamic library '/usr/local/lib/php/extensions/no-debug-non-zts-20060613/uploadprogress.so' ". This occurs for me and my users and presumably other users on the server.

I believe that a proper fix here would be to either install the missing module or to change the master php.ini file to not request it. So I opened a support ticket but the staff seem to think it's my problem and not a system setup problem.

Can anyone tell me why this isn't a system configuration problem or explain why support staff won't fix it ? Littering the error logs with these messages isn't a serious problem but is annoying when someone (e.g. me) has to search the logs for real errors.

Cheers,

Hi phelum,

If you would like to have your Tech Support ticket reviewed because you feel it was not answered to your satisfactions, feel free to email your details + Ticket ID to feedback at crucial.com.au

In some cases a Customer can run their own php.ini which can over-ride some settings, this could be useful in your case. However it may be a symptom of another problem, so feel free to drop a link to the feedback address mentioned, and I will take a further look into this for you.

Hi phelum,

I was keeping an eye out for a feedback email, but have yet to see one relating to the issue you described.

Can you confirm you sent the email to feedback at crucial.com.au

Alternatively, you can submit a Ticket to the Feedback queue by going to https://support.crucialp.com/index.p...kets&_a=submit and choosing the Feedback queue from the list.

Hi Ross,
Thanks for your concern. I did send an e-mail to feedback at crucial.com.au and I haven't received any delivery failure notice.

I've just opened a feedback ticket (OTW-944505) with my e-mail text.

Update 2011-04-28 @ 1523: The issue is now fixed. Thanks for your help Ross.

Cheers,

Steve, what are you trying to run on your account? Some frameworks (e.g. Zend & Drupal) require this extension for some of their modules and it may be possible to disable it on your side.

The error (missing module) was reported because a module was installed in the wrong directory. This has now been fixed. I was offered a custom php.ini file but I didn't consider this to be the proper solution.

It didn't matter whether the PHP script needed the module or not; the error was reported anyway. This meant that every PHP request on the server would result in an entry in the user's error_log. Not a show-stopper but annoying if you have to refer to the log to find out why a script isn't working.

Cheers,
