hi there
I have a few clients on my VPS having problems with their outgoing mail. I always advise that they use their ISP's outgoing mail server. I do this and there are no problems for me ( i am also hosted on the VPS). But some clients hosted on the VPS can't do this and are using the VPS for incoming and outgoing mail. This is presenting latency issues and mail from simply not leaving mailboxes for a time. I have 2 questions: 1) Should the VPS be able to handle hosted accounts' outgoing mail? If so, what are the problems i am having? Are there any settings that I could change in WHM to prevent this? 2) Is it better policy generally to always recommend they use their ISP's outgoing mail server to prevent these sorts of problems? Thanks in advance, ben |

Thanks I will tell him to try it. Part of this issue is that he is travelling around the place using free WiFi in cafes etc. What outbound server do you use in these cases? Someone mentioned that you can use Gmail servers as outbound for free... Know anything about that?
