Game Servers

Hi,

I was wondering if there is still the restriction on having no game servers allowed to be hosted?

As I have a Cloud VPS server and was wanting to setup a private server for me and a few friends to play on and was wondering if there was still a rule against it.

Hi Elpho,

Sorry at this point in time we do not allow game servers on our network, even if they are for private use.

Do you know if you's will allow private game servers to be hosted in the near future?

Because I have a genuine server license key for the game I was wishing to host and was hoping to be able to keep all my hosting in the one place rather than have to go and host it somewhere else.

But if its not going to be allowed in the near future its not really that big of a deal as the Cloud VPS server that i have is exceptionally fast for all the websites that I have hosted on it, it really is 2nd to none - I could safely say its the fastest VPS server i've ever had.

Also may I ask why game servers and IRC servers aren't allowed on any of the VPS hosting plans that you offer? (just interested to know thats all.)

This is something we do in the future, however would likely be on separate network.

We do not allow game servers and IRC servers currently as they tend to attract attacks (such as DDoS).
