I have a Debian 4 VPS and wish to upgrade to 5. I could rebuild the VPS via the web console, but that's going to cause a lot more downtime and hassle.
Is there some way I can upgrade without having to rebuild from scratch? I'm quite happy to do the necessary apt-fu, but I won't be able to change the kernel, and while I gather debian 5 will run with a 2.6.18 kernel, I'd be happier moving to a newer one. |

Hi Jonathan,
Our Linux VPS services use the kernel of the node, so you can't use a different kernel nor can we change it per VPS. However Debian 5 is supported so I don't forsee any major problem with you running an upgrade commands like aptitude to upgrade. This is the supported method we would recommend.
